Munny of DOOM by Luthie13 Munny of DOOM by Luthie13
Okay... So after suffering through a doctor's appointment last week, I rewarded myself with the purchase of a Munny Mini. Now initially I was going to make one of my original characters, (probably Falon, since she's my favorite)

BUT Munny came with a sign.....and.....and.....

I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF!

Anyhow here is my first 'Munny'. Little chibi Walter Kovacs. Baaaawww! so small and angry! :XD: I usually stick to the graphic novel look, but I like him with blue eyes like in the movie. He's mostly colored with markers. His hair is painted sculpey.

:icongunga-diner: may display

did you have to put a fixative on him to use markers or did they actually stick to the vynil?

did you get air dry sculpey? or did you have to bake it and then glue it on his head with a strong adhesive? Man this is amazing! ;D

This is amazing! When you say you used markers - what kind exactly? I just did my first Munny the other day with promarkers (I think they're basically the same as copic markers) and it came out kinda streaky - nowhere near as awesome as this! Though, I dunno wether that was because it wasn't a mini one, it was quite big.

But yeah, this is badass, you made Walter Kovacs look adorable - congratulations, haha. :)

I think this turned out great! I hate to be rude but I also wanted to ask: I'm getting a Munny soon, and I want to use prismacolor markers and I saw you did. I can't find anything about preparations for those! did you prime it before hand like they say to? how easy was it to use the markers?

I did not prime it for markers, the prismacolor work pretty well, if they get layered thick the thing gets a little sticky and you might want to carefully wash it, the color will fade a bit, but you can go in again and brighten it. I layered the color with this one quite a bit. He's held up perfectly too, no fading or anything.

:gasp: you better make your own walter!! munny walter would look so great in your style! Not to mention, crazy Walter needs to be loved. That is why people should make little Munnys of him so he can finally get the care he deserves. Also, I ADORE your icon.

I'm trying to make a Munny right now and was wondering how did you do the hair? Did you bake and glue it on or did you stick the whole thing in the oven? What did you use?

Please! I need assistance!

I used super sculpey and molded it right onto his head, then baked it at 250 for what ever the package says. It didn't melt, but the plastic was soft when i came out, i stuck it in the fridge right after. I only put his head in though, I popped it off first. Afterward I painted his hair orange with acrylics.

This is really cool! How did you bake the Sculpey? Was it on the munny in the oven?

yeah i had to put poor walter's head in the oven. :XD: I took it off the rest of his body first. The parts pop on and off pretty easy. You have to be careful though, I baked it at 250 degrees for 15 minutes and he was okay. (the plastic was a little soft, but not melty, a few minutes in the fridge had him back to normal.) To set sculpey you're supposed to go to 275, but it came out perfectly hard at 250 and i felt better not going too high.

Ya, I've been browsing to find out info on baking the Sculpey on the munny and I've read do it at 200 degreees and use a blow dryer to spot bake any parts that are soft :)

I'm so excited to customize my munny! I just ordered a mini munny yesterday :D
